Playtime’s founder, Christine Finch, is an experienced animal handler, behaviorist, and member of APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers), and the APPSA (Arizona Professional Petsitters Association).
Christine Finch has earned her credentials as a Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT), the first national certification for dog trainers in history. All CPDT's are responsible for promoting education and positive reinforcement training methods in their work with canines and their guardians.
The Certification Council of Pet Dog Trainers provides a true certification process, originally implemented by the APDT, the largest association of dog trainers in the world, founded by noted veterinarian, behaviorist and author, Dr. Ian Dunbar. Christine utilizes methods of positive reinforcement to train canines and their humans. Christine has volunteered as an adoption counselor and foster parent with local rescue groups for more than 75 dogs and cats (and only three got to stay permanently!). Christine's extensive experience has given her insight and knowledge of pet behaviors, training and care.
Christine has volunteered as a Board Member with numerous local rescue groups. She assists groups with behavior modification, training and evaluations. Christine's experience with homeless animals makes her a perfect fit with local rescue organizations.
Christine is certified by the AKC to be a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator for the Certification Exam.
